Well clearly drawing (and writing) is the most important part but there's a lot more involved in making a business out of my doodles. There's all the boring bits like invoicing, keeping track of book schedules and deadlines (if you get a reputation for always delivering your work late it doesn't matter how good your illustrations are- you won't get work!), marketing my work - although I have an agent who does a lot of this for me I do still like to do things such as desgin my own website, and general dull office tasks like mailing out the work, keeping accounts and responding to endless work emails! But hey, it's all good fun really - better than working in someone else's office answering their emails, keeping their accounts and sending out their mail! I really can't complain - I'm very aware of how lucky I am!
